CHAPTERS PRENATAL PROGRAM

Our prenatal exercise classes are located at our khalifa City A studio in Abu Dhabi. They are designed to support your evolving body during pregnancy. Whether you are a regular gym goer or just getting started, Chapters Studio is your go-to studio in Abu Dhabi with specialized prenatal trainers who are always up to date on the latest research and continuously consult and collaborate with industry professionals including physiotherapists, midwives and others, to offer targeted, effective and safe exercise programs. 

 

“Don’t bend down, have someone else pick it up for you, don’t worry about exercise until after the baby” We have all heard this before but maintaining our strength and stamina throughout our pregnancy is essential for a few reasons including but not limited to the following:

 

  1. Prevent or lessen common aches and pains for a more comfortable pregnancy

  2. Start focusing on core and pelvic floor function early, learning how to engage and relax pelvic floor as well as properly control core pressure during exercise and daily movement to prevent or lessen the occurance of pelvic floor dysfunctions and injury-based diastasis recti

  3. Prevent or control gestational diabetes

  4. Take care of your newborn with minimal physical discomfort

  5. Speedier recovery post birth

  6. Etc.

 

In fact, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists recommend that during pregnancy, women should perform 30 minutes or more of moderate-intensity exercise on most, if not all, days of the week.¹ While the UK Department of Health goes even further and recommends additional muscle strengthening activities twice a week.²

CHAPTER POSTNATAL

Your body has rearranged itself to create and give birth, its miraculous. Welcome to your body’s new chapter, just as perfect now as it was before. Where do you begin? What is a postnatal core workout? Are you worried that you injure yourself?

 

Run by Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialists, Rebuild & Restore is our signature 8-week postpartum program that will help you regain core and pelvic floor function, as well as overall strength and mobility through effective and targeted exercise. It is the perfect program to help you bridge the gap from prenatal to postnatal safely and effectively, allowing you to heal, gain strength and energy to parent and for yourself, and of course get back to the workouts you love. 

 

This program is suitable for all mums returning back to exercise, once you have been given the all-clear by your doctor whether yesterday or 6 years ago. It is limited to a small group so you can fully benefit. The postnatal exercise classes take place in our Khalifa city A Studio in Abu Dhabi.

Tone

 

Tone is our signature Strength Training class open to all levels and all Chapters . It’s a full body strength class where we combine compound exercises with isolation exercises to help rev your metabolism, lose body fat, tone up and feel stronger. 

 

Tone in the Chapters Studio, Khalifa City A, focuses on more traditional exercises with heavier weights and other equipment. 

 

Tone in Ansam, Yas Island, is a resistance-based workout recommended for prenatal, using lighter weights and resistance bands. It includes elements of pilates, prenatal pilates, strength training and yoga.

Strength & Mobility

 

Based in our Khalifa City studio this class focuses on releasing tension in the body using myofascial release techniques (foam rolling & massage ball), increasing range of motion with mobility and stretching techniques, and increasing strength with activation drills and targeted full body strength work.

 

The aim of this class to help you move freely and pain-free in your everyday life, as well as increase performance.

 

Note: This is also a great for those looking for a postnatal pilates class in Abu Dhabi, those who feel like they have limited movement or looking for rehabilitation.

Evening Yoga

 

Our yoga classes are suitable for all levels & recommended for you during pregnancy.

Yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies.

 

All our classes are based in Abu Dhabi but you have the choice to join in studio or live online, so even if you are not Abu Dhabi, you can always join us.

Strength & Conditioning

 

This class is specifically for the ladies looking to build strength, muscle, and cardiovascular endurance.
The class consists of 50 minutes of functional bodybuilding combined with HIIT that will push you and make you stronger.

Every one has started from zero so there is no need to worry. We will be working with movements and weights suitable to your abilities.

So don’t be shy. Let’s get strong and have fun.

Power Yoga

 

Power Yoga includes forms of Ashtanga Styles, linking breath and movement in flow with Sun Salutations, which creates heat in the body, and Hatha style holding poses to build strength and flexibility giving us time to breath and be present. Calming the mind, paying attention, noticing what feels good. Finding ways to explore how you can move the breath and slow down our racing minds.
